IS A HOME
INSPECTION REALLY NECESSARY?
The
answer to that question is, "yes, you absolutely need a home
inspection to protect yourself from what could be a financial
disaster." Per a real estate buyers' survey, the average buyer
only looks at a house for twenty minutes before summiting a
contract to purchase. A professional home inspector will take
two and a half to three hours to inspect the complete house
including the roof, the structure, testing the heating system,
the electric and a/c systems, the plumbing, the foundation,
attic, crawl space and the complete exterior just to mention a
few areas of inspection. It is estimated that in a standard
home inspection a professional home inspector will inspect and
test over four hundred items.
Most homes sold today are sold as is However, you may not
want the house if the inspector finds a $15,000 chimney
problem or a $5000 furnace replacement repair.

Uncle Joe looked at the house and he thought it was ok. Boy, am I sorry I did not get a home inspection? Now that we are moved in, we are finding a lot of expensive hidden repair.
This is a really expensive repair that our inspector discovered in a Newark, New Jersey inspection.

Older cast lines can develop a leak at any time through cast iron lead joints, pin holes, collapsed pipe sections, tree root penetration, etc. Note - Due to the age of the home, a camera inspection of the sanitary sewer line is recommended to determine the condition of the drain line and any additional repairs that maybe needed, by a licensed plumber prior to closing. History of Newark NJ the name of the city is thought to derive from Newark-on-Trent, England, because of the influence of the original pastor, Abraham Pierson, who came from Yorkshire but may have ministered in Newark, Nottinghamshire. But Pierson is also supposed to have said that the community reflecting the new task at hand should be named "New Ark" for "New Ark of the Covenant and some of the colonists saw it as "New-Work", the settlers' new work with God. Whatever the origins, the name was shortened to Newark, although references to the name "New Ark" are found in preserved letters written by historical figures such as David Ogden in his claim for compensation, and James McHenry, as late as 1787
